As an exercise in Information Architecture, I set out to find and redesign a site bogged down by information overload-- where users were unable to quickly locate and access the pages they needed. Eventually, I found the website for Fordham University's School of Law, chocked full of relevant information for students and staff, but equally convoluted in its hierarchy.

The direction of the redesign was largely driven by user research and testing. Task assignments helped determine which flows worked and which didn't. Rounds of card sorting led to a newly formed navigational layout. The most dramatic change focused on the school's individual degree programs, deemed to be the most important section for the site's primary users. After being consolidated into a single database, program information could be easily explored by prospective Fordham students.
